Polypropelene carpet dyeing. YES Polypropelene is dyeable. To keep ahead of the carpet manufacturers we are constantly testing.
We have been getting phone calls from people asking if polypropelene is dyeable. Because the handful of other carpet dyers can't dye it because they are ignorant, lazy or don't want to buy the system from us, they say it is not dyeable. Because also I have also been looking around the internet for years and recently found that a number of people have been misled and or are misleading others through their own ignorance or misdirection into thinking polypropelene is not dyeable.
Within 6 months of my team hearing of polypropelene we were able to dye it for you. Polypropelene usually cannot be dyed back to the original colour but deeper. This in many cases is a good thing because. We got a navy coloured polypropelene carpet with nice gold stripes. This was ok BUT it had brown stains after we had a fire in the place we lived in at the time. So we dyed a nice chocolate and left the nice gold stripes.
You may know or may have heard polypropelene and solution dyed nylon was touted back when it was first sold that it was the best carpet. Because it was not dyeable or stainable. I guess at this time these people who advertised these facts did not count on us inventing our system and being able to help you out. Before we go any further I would like to set the record straight.
Please note Polypropelene carpet dyeing is currently limited in some areas and availability.
